HR 4926 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Highway Funding Transferability Improvement Act
To amend title 23, United States Code, to provide for increased transferability of Federal-aid highway funds.
Summary
This bill amends federal highway law to increase the portion of Federal-aid highway funds that states are permitted to transfer to other transportation purposes from 50 percent to 75 percent. The change allows states to use a larger share of their federal highway funding for transit, bicycle infrastructure, pedestrian improvements, or other eligible transportation projects. This provides states with greater flexibility in allocating their federal transportation resources according to local priorities.
