HR 5321 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.

Summary
The bill extends a deadline related to exemptions allowing low-emission and energy-efficient vehicles to use high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes from September 30, 2025 to December 31, 2026. This continues an existing program that permits certain electric and efficient vehicles to bypass HOV requirements. The bill also directs the Secretary of Transportation to study and report to Congress on how effective these vehicle exemptions are at reducing traffic congestion, with the study to be completed within 180 days of enactment.
