Rural Upgrades for Road Access and Local Growth Act of 2025
To amend section 173 of title 23, United States Code, to require the Secretary of Transportation to set aside certain amounts provided under the rural surface transportation grant program for regional hubs, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill modifies the rural surface transportation grant program by requiring the Secretary of Transportation to reserve 30 percent of annual program funds for grants to communities with populations between 10,000 and 75,000, referred to as "regional hubs." These communities are eligible for the funding whether or not they are designated as urbanized areas by the Census Bureau. The bill also accelerates the grant application review process by reducing the review period from 60 days to 3 days for applications.
