Latest action (Sep 4, 2025) Read twice and referred to the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry.

Summary

The bill amends the Food and Nutrition Act of 2008 to exclude certain income from SNAP (food assistance) eligibility calculations. Specifically, it excludes income earned by household members under age 21 who are participating in career and technical education programs and earn income through apprenticeships, internships, or work-based learning programs that are part of their career and technical education. The income exclusion applies only to students who live with a parent or are under parental control. The Secretary of Agriculture is directed to establish procedures to verify that students meet these requirements, including confirming enrollment in career and technical education and verifying age and household relationships.
