Repeal the TikTok Ban Act

To repeal the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act.

Introduced Jan 20, 2025

Latest action (Jan 20, 2025) Read twice and referred to the Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.

Summary

This bill repeals the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, which was enacted in December 2024 and required certain foreign-controlled applications to divest or face restrictions in the United States. The repeal would retroactively nullify any designations of websites, desktop applications, mobile applications, or augmented or immersive technology applications as foreign adversary controlled applications made under the prior law. The bill does not create new restrictions or regulations; it removes the existing statutory framework governing such applications.
