Summary

This bill exempts stinger-steered combinations—a type of truck and trailer configuration—from the federal requirement to display warning flags on loads that extend beyond the vehicle's edges. The exemption applies specifically when these vehicles are transporting assembled highway vehicles, such as cars. The bill directs the Secretary of Transportation to formally update federal regulations to reflect this exemption. The Secretary is authorized to make this regulatory change without going through the standard notice-and-comment public rulemaking process.
