Preventing Sexual Abuse of K–12 Students Act of 2025
To amend the Elementary and Secondary Education Act of 1965 to protect students from sexual abuse, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends federal education law to require states receiving federal funds to establish policies that mandate local school districts develop codes of conduct addressing appropriate and inappropriate relationships between school personnel and students, as well as between students. School personnel must receive training on these codes of conduct, federal and state reporting requirements for child abuse, Title IX protections, and sexual abuse prevention. The bill provides federal funding through existing grant programs to support the development of these codes and training programs, with implementation required within two years of enactment. The Secretary of Education is required to study and report to Congress within one year on the incidence of sexual abuse in schools by both students and school personnel, along with recommendations for prevention.

They work to provide children with safe and secure environments in which to learn and these safe environments should be strengthened by including the resources and training necessary to help prevent the sexual abuse of students.
