Summary

Federal employees would be allowed to take paid time off to donate blood, up to four times per calendar year and no more than one day per donation. The bill amends federal law to add blood donation to the existing provisions that permitted unpaid leave for bone-marrow and organ donation. The change updates the relevant section heading and legal references to include blood donors alongside organ and bone-marrow donors. This applies to civilian federal employees under title 5 of the U.S. Code.
