To direct the Secretary of Transportation to issue certain regulations to reduce the threshold in the definition of significantly delayed or changed flight, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill directs the Secretary of Transportation to change the federal definition of a significantly delayed or changed flight. For domestic flights, the threshold would be lowered from 3 hours to 2 hours, and for international flights from 6 hours to 5 hours. The Secretary must issue the necessary regulatory amendments within 180 days after the bill becomes law. The change would affect how flight delays are classified under federal aviation regulations.
