Introduced May 29, 2025

Latest action (May 30, 2025) Referred to the Subcommittee on Aviation.

Summary

This bill requires air carriers to provide passengers with timely information when flight delays are caused by maintenance or crew rest issues and no replacement aircraft or crew is available. Airlines must immediately notify affected passengers with an estimated delay duration, or if unavailable, state that no estimate is available and provide one as soon as possible. Notifications must be made through multiple channels including airport public address announcements, display boards at the gate, and direct communication via text, email, and the airline's mobile application. The bill amends federal transportation law to establish these notice requirements under a new section governing maintenance and crew delay disclosures.
