HR 2720 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Gold Star Family Education Parity Act
To amend title 38, United States Code, to provide for the termination of a certain educational assistance program, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill terminates the Survivors' and Dependents' Educational Assistance program effective August 1, 2029. Individuals who lose eligibility under that program due to the termination would be shifted to receive educational assistance under the Post-9/11 GI Bill program instead. The transition would provide the same educational benefits but under the different program's rules and limitations.
