SJRES 76
Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.

RES. 76 Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Environmental Protection Agency relating to ``Extension of Deadlines in Standards of Performance for New, Reconstructed, and Modified Sources and Emissions Guidelines for Existing Sources: Oil and Natural Gas Sector Climate Review Final Rule''.

Introduced Sep 4, 2025

Latest action (Nov 19, 2025) Motion to proceed to consideration of measure rejected in Senate by Yea-Nay Vote. 46 - 51. Record Vote Number: 622.

Summary

This joint resolution would overturn an Environmental Protection Agency rule that extended compliance deadlines for emissions standards applied to the oil and natural gas industry. The rule being disapproved, published in July 2025, affected standards for newly constructed and modified facilities, as well as emissions guidelines for existing sources. If passed, the resolution would eliminate the EPA rule entirely, giving it no legal force or effect. The disapproval would revert to whatever emissions standards applied before the EPA extended those deadlines.
