Mr. Boozman (for himself and Mr. Peters) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Veterans’ Affairs

A BILL

To amend the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act to extend burial benefits for certain veterans who die at home while in receipt of hospice care furnished by the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Gerald’s Law Reauthorization Act of 2026”.

SEC. 2. EXTENSION OF BURIAL BENEFITS FOR CERTAIN VETERANS WHO DIE AT HOME WHILE IN RECEIPT OF HOSPICE CARE FURNISHED BY DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS.

Section 301(c)(2) of the Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act (38 U.S.C. 2303 note) is amended by striking “2026” and inserting “2030”. <all>
