It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To direct the Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency and the Secretary of Transportation to repeal or rescind certain actions, initiatives, policies, and regulations related to engine idle start- stop technology, and for other purposes.
Summary
The bill directs the Environmental Protection Agency and the Department of Transportation to repeal or rescind any actions, policies, or regulations that specifically encourage, incentivize, promote, or require vehicle manufacturers to install engine idle start-stop technology within one year of enactment. Engine idle start-stop technology automatically shuts off a vehicle's engine when it comes to rest and restarts it when the driver applies the accelerator or releases the brake. The agencies are prohibited from issuing new similar actions or regulations in the future, except where repeal would create a risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. The bill requires the agencies to submit progress and final reports to Congress documenting their efforts to repeal existing idle start-stop technology regulations.
