HR 6097 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Transition Improvement by Estimating Risk Act of 2025
To amend title 10, United States Code, to establish additional factors considered in the design of pathways in the Transition Assistance Program.
Summary
HR 6097 would amend the Transition Assistance Program, which helps service members prepare for military retirement or separation, to include additional factors in designing pathways for transitioning members. The bill requires the program to consider child care needs, including enrollment in the Exceptional Family Member Program; the employment status of other household members; the member's duty station location and family separation; and the effects of operational tempo on the member and their household. These new factors would be added to existing criteria used to design TAP pathways, allowing for more individualized transition planning based on individual circumstances.
