HR 5665 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To amend chapter 17 of title 38, United States Code, to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to allow a veteran to receive a full-year supply of contraceptive pills, transdermal patches, vaginal rings, and other contraceptive products, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends the Veterans Benefits Code to allow the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide enrolled veterans with a full-year supply of contraceptive pills, transdermal patches, vaginal rings, and other contraceptive products. Veterans who have a medical provider prescribe contraceptive products may elect to fill such prescriptions as a full-year supply rather than requiring more frequent refills. Medical providers are required to notify veterans of this option when prescribing contraceptive products. The bill defines contraceptive products as any FDA-approved drugs, devices, or biologics intended for pregnancy prevention.
