HR 4876 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Reproductive Freedom for Veterans Act
To amend title 38, United States Code, to direct the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to provide abortion care, counseling, and related services and medication to certain individuals who receive health care furnished by the Secretary, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends federal law to require the Department of Veterans Affairs to provide abortion care, counseling, and related medications to covered veterans and certain eligible family members. The bill defines "covered individuals" as veterans eligible for VA health care and individuals eligible for benefits as spouses or dependents under existing law. The amendment would add these abortion-related services to the medical services the VA is authorized to furnish to these populations.
