Livestock Indemnity Program Improvement Act of 2025
To require the Secretary of Agriculture to provide regular updates to Livestock Indemnity Program payment rates to reflect market prices, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill would amend the Livestock Indemnity Program to require the Secretary of Agriculture to update market value determinations on a quarterly basis. The Secretary would coordinate with the Agricultural Marketing Service Administrator and use other appropriate resources to determine market values for indemnity payments. This change would ensure that livestock indemnity payment rates more regularly reflect current market conditions.
