HR 3941 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To repeal the Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act of 2019.
To repeal the Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act of 2019.
Summary
This bill would repeal Section 5123 of Public Law 118-159, which relates to provisions of the Caesar Syria Civilian Protection Act of 2019. The Caesar Act imposes sanctions on the Syrian government and individuals and entities that support the Syrian regime due to documented human rights abuses. Repealing this section would remove one of the statutory provisions implementing those sanctions. The bill does not specify what alternative policy or restrictions, if any, would replace the repealed section.
