Lowboy Auto Hauler Fairness Act of 2025
To amend title 49, United States Code, to increase the vehicle length limitation for truck tractor-lowboy trailer combinations, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends federal motor carrier safety regulations to establish standards for truck tractor-lowboy trailer combinations used to transport assembled highway vehicles. The bill prohibits states from imposing vehicle length limitations of less than 80 feet on such combinations that meet specified front and rear overhang requirements (front overhang less than 4 feet, rear overhang less than 6 feet). The bill also exempts lowboy trailers from certain rear overhang flag requirements under federal regulations.
