Summary

This bill would amend federal motor vehicle regulations to allow certain motor vehicle equipment that does not meet standard safety or compliance requirements to be introduced into interstate commerce for testing purposes. The amendments modify Section 30112 of title 49, United States Code, to include references to motor vehicle equipment alongside motor vehicles in the existing regulatory framework. This appears designed to provide a pathway for testing new or experimental motor vehicle equipment before full compliance would be required.
