Summary

This bill amends federal veterans law to require that continuity of a veteran's health care be considered when the Department of Veterans Affairs determines what is in a veteran's best medical interest under the Veterans Community Care Program. The Veterans Community Care Program allows the VA to authorize veterans to receive care from community providers outside the VA system. By adding continuity of care as a consideration, the bill aims to ensure that veterans can maintain ongoing relationships with their health care providers when receiving community care. The bill was introduced in the Senate in February 2025 and referred to the Committee on Veterans' Affairs.
