Mr. Ricketts (for himself, Mr. Heinrich, Mrs. Fischer, Mr. Bennet, and Mr. Lujan) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry

A BILL

To amend the Agricultural Credit Act of 1978 to authorize payments under the emergency conservation system for updating of fencing to new or emerging technology.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Fencing Eligibility for New Conservation Equipment Act” or the “FENCE Act”.

SEC. 2. NEW OR EMERGING FENCING TECHNOLOGIES UNDER THE EMERGENCY CONSERVATION PROGRAM.

Section 401(b) of the Agricultural Credit Act of 1978 (16 U.S.C. 2201(b)) is amended by adding at the end the following:

“(3) New or emerging technologies.—Repair or replacement of fencing under this section may include updating of fencing to new or emerging technology if such updating does not increase the cost of the repair or replacement.”. <all>
