Summary

The bill would amend federal whistleblower protection laws to clarify protections for disclosures made by certain federal employees. Specifically, it would protect disclosures made during the normal course of duties by employees whose principal job function is to regularly investigate and disclose wrongdoing. The bill restructures existing whistleblower protection provisions to incorporate this new category of protected disclosure. This amendment clarifies that employees in investigative and disclosure roles have protection for work-related disclosures made as part of their regular job duties.
