Mammography Access for Veterans Act of 2025
To expand the telescreening mammography pilot program of the Department of Veterans Affairs, and for other purposes.
Summary
The Mammography Access for Veterans Act of 2025 converts the Department of Veterans Affairs' telescreening mammography pilot program into a permanent program. Within two years of enactment, the bill requires the VA to ensure that each state and Puerto Rico has at least one of the following mammography services available to veterans: a telescreening program, a full-service mammography program at a VA facility, or a mobile mammography program. The Secretary must ensure that each of these programs is accessible to veterans with disabilities, including paralysis, spinal cord injuries, and other disabilities, consistent with applicable accessibility requirements. The bill allows the VA to expand telescreening mammography services beyond the facilities that originally participated in the pilot program and extends the reporting deadline to May 1, 2027.
