Emergency Savings Enhancement Act of 2025
To modify the eligibility requirements and account contribution maximum for pension-linked emergency savings accounts, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill modifies rules for pension-linked emergency savings accounts by broadening eligibility requirements and increasing contribution limits. The bill changes eligibility so that individuals can participate in these accounts if they meet any age, service, and other eligibility requirements of the plan. The maximum annual contribution limit for these accounts is increased from $2,500 to $5,000. The bill makes corresponding amendments to both the Employee Retirement Income Security Act and the Internal Revenue Code. These changes take effect for taxable years beginning after December 31, 2026.
