Summary

This bill modifies the rules for pension-linked emergency savings accounts, which allow workers to set aside money for unexpected expenses while participating in employer retirement plans. It broadens eligibility for these accounts by removing restrictions and allowing any individual who meets a plan's general eligibility requirements to participate, even if they are not otherwise participants in the plan. The bill doubles the maximum annual contribution limit from $2,500 to $5,000. The changes take effect January 1, 2027.
