S 2641 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Health Care Freedom and Choice Act
To provide that the rule relating to ``Short-Term, Limited-Duration Insurance and Independent, Noncoordinated Excepted Benefits Coverage'' shall have no force or effect.
Summary
This bill nullifies a federal regulation issued in April 2024 by the Internal Revenue Service, Employee Benefits Security Administration, and Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services. The regulation addressed short-term, limited-duration insurance and independent, noncoordinated excepted benefits coverage. By nullifying this rule, the bill would prevent the regulation from having legal effect.
