S 1864 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
No Safe Harbor for the Enemy Act
To amend the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 to modify the provision relating to public reporting of Chinese military companies, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill amends the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021 to modify the process for listing Chinese military companies. It adds a provision stating that the Secretary of Defense's decision to add an entity to the list of Chinese military companies operating in the United States shall be final and conclusive and may not be reviewed by any other official, court, or judicial action. This removes the ability to challenge the Secretary's determinations through judicial review or mandamus proceedings.
