Mr. Fetterman (for himself, Mrs. Gillibrand, Mr. Blumenthal, Ms. Alsobrooks, Mr. Wyden, and Mr. Welch) introduced the following bill; which was read twice and referred to the Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry
A BILL
To amend the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023, to expand the replacement of stolen EBT benefits under the supplemental nutrition assistance program.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,
SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the “Fairness for Victims of SNAP Skimming Act of 2025”.
SEC. 2. REPLACEMENT OF STOLEN EBT BENEFITS.
Section 501(b)(2) of division HH of the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 (7 U.S.C. 2016a(b)(2)) is amended—
(1) by striking subparagraph (A) and inserting the following:
“(A) shall be equal to the amount of benefits stolen from the household; and”;
(2) in subparagraph (B), by striking “and” at the end; and
(3) by striking subparagraph (C). <all>
