S 1331 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
PSLF Payment Completion Fairness Act
To ensure that borrowers who have performed qualifying public service are eligible for Public Service Loan Forgiveness.
Summary
This bill would modify the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program by amending eligibility requirements in the Higher Education Act of 1965. The amendment changes language regarding employment status to allow borrowers who have performed qualifying public service to be eligible for loan forgiveness, rather than requiring current employment in a qualifying position. The specific change relaxes the employment requirement for borrowers seeking Public Service Loan Forgiveness benefits.
