HRES 382 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Providing a point of order in the House of Representatives during the 119th Congress against reconciliation measures that reduce benefits under the Medicaid program or the supplemental nutrition assistance program.
Providing a point of order in the House of Representatives during the under the Medicaid program or the supplemental nutrition assistance program.
Summary
This resolution establishes a procedural rule in the House of Representatives that makes it out of order to consider budget reconciliation bills during the 119th Congress that would reduce Medicaid enrollment or benefits for children under age 19, seniors age 65 and older, pregnant women, or individuals with disabilities. The resolution also prohibits reconciliation measures that would reduce supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) eligibility or benefits for households containing these same categories of vulnerable individuals. The rule includes an exception allowing cuts to address improper payments, eliminate fraudulent billing, or enhance eligibility verification processes. This procedural point of order would remain in effect through the end of the 119th Congress.
