PARKS Act

To amend the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act to provide for free annual passes to licensed foster families.

Introduced Jun 4, 2026

Latest action (Jun 4, 2026) Referred to the Committee on Natural Resources, and in addition to the Committee on Agriculture, for a period to be subsequently determined by the Speaker, in each case for consideration of such provisions as fall within the jurisdiction of the committee concerned.

Summary

The PARKS Act amends the Federal Lands Recreation Enhancement Act to provide free annual passes to licensed foster families for access to federal recreation sites. Foster families must provide proof of eligibility as determined by the Secretary of the Interior. Generally, each family receives one pass, but families too large to fit on a single pass may receive additional passes at no cost to cover entrance and standard amenity fees. The amendment adds foster families to existing categories of people eligible for free passes.
