Summary

This bill amends a federal civil rights statute to allow Americans to sue Federal election or election enforcement officials for constitutional violations of voting rights and election law. Currently, the statute allows lawsuits against state officials for constitutional violations; this bill extends that same right to federal officials. This expansion enables citizens to pursue civil lawsuits in federal court against federal election authorities who violate constitutional voting rights protections.
