Summary

This bill amends federal law to change the mandatory retirement age for United States Capitol Police officers. Currently, Capitol Police officers must retire at age 60 under both the Civil Service Retirement System and the Federal Employees' Retirement System. The bill allows the retirement age to be set by the Capitol Police Board at any age between 57 and 65 years old, replacing the fixed retirement age of 60. This change applies to both retirement systems used by Capitol Police.
