Summary

This bill amends federal law to authorize capital punishment for certain sexual abuse offenses against children. Specifically, it modifies the penalties for aggravated sexual abuse, sexual abuse of a minor, and abusive sexual contact by allowing judges to impose a death sentence in addition to or instead of imprisonment and fines. The bill also extends the same death penalty authorization to the Uniform Code of Military Justice for rape of a child. The changes would apply to convictions under various sections of title 18, United States Code.
