Fatigued Pilot Protection Act

To direct the Administrator of the Federal Aviation Administration to update regulations relating to the application of certain flight and duty limitations and rest requirements, and for other purposes.

Introduced Jan 21, 2026

Latest action (Jan 22, 2026) Referred to the Subcommittee on Aviation.

Summary

This bill directs the Federal Aviation Administration Administrator to update regulations within 180 days to ensure that pilot flight and duty limitations and rest requirements apply consistently to all flight crew members and certificate holders conducting commercial airline operations. The bill references Part 117 of the Federal Aviation Regulations, which sets standards for pilot flight hours, duty time, and mandatory rest periods to prevent fatigue. By requiring these fatigue-related safety standards to apply uniformly across all commercial airline operations, the bill aims to standardize pilot rest and duty time protections across the aviation industry.
