To amend title 5, United States code, to require certain officials to provide an annual briefing to certain congressional committees.
Summary
The bill requires 30 senior executive branch officials, including Cabinet secretaries and heads of major agencies, to provide annual briefings to their corresponding congressional committees. Each official must brief the relevant committees in their area of responsibility—for example, the Secretary of State would brief the House and Senate committees on foreign affairs and appropriations. The briefings must be provided in the form and manner required by the respective committees. The bill amends title 5 of the United States Code to establish this annual reporting requirement.
