Summary

This bill would amend federal law governing military service credit to include advanced training time in the Senior Reserve Officers' Training Corps (SROTC) when calculating the length of service for officers appointed based on completing SROTC requirements. The bill expands the date from which service credit can begin, allowing service credit from the date of enactment of this bill in addition to the current date of August 1, 1979, regardless of which military component an officer served in. This change would apply to officers appointed through the SROTC "Green to Gold" program.
