HR 6321 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Lung Cancer Medicare Access to Precise Testing Act
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to require coverage of lung cancer biomarker testing under the Medicare program.
Summary
This bill would require Medicare to cover lung cancer biomarker testing, which identifies specific genetic or molecular characteristics of a patient's cancer to guide treatment decisions. Medicare would pay 100 percent of the reasonable charges for such testing with no cost-sharing for beneficiaries. The coverage would apply to tests performed on or after January 1, 2027, for individuals diagnosed with lung cancer. The testing is performed on tissue, blood, or bodily fluid samples to identify genes, proteins, or other molecules relevant to treatment selection.
