HR 6184 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To ensure the uninterrupted storage of data sets of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill restricts the Secretary of Commerce's ability to cancel contracts with cloud service providers for storing National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration data sets. Before canceling such a contract, the Secretary must develop a plan for uninterrupted storage that includes transition to another cloud service provider and must collaborate with the NOAA Administrator to ensure continuous protection of the data. The bill applies to all data sets stored by NOAA with cloud service providers.
