HR 6130 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide for Medicare coverage of blood-based dementia screening tests.
Summary
This bill amends Medicare to cover blood-based screening tests for Alzheimer's disease and related dementias, starting January 1, 2028. The covered tests include genomic sequencing blood tests and other approved biomarker tests that detect early or pre-symptomatic stages of Alzheimer's disease or related dementias. Tests must be cleared, classified, or approved by the FDA. The Secretary of Health and Human Services may determine that other equivalent tests, such as those using protein analysis or whole genome sequencing, are appropriate for coverage if they provide comparable results.
