Stamp Out Veterans Medical Debt Act
To provide for the issuance of a Veterans Medical Debt Relief Stamp.
Summary
The Stamp Out Veterans Medical Debt Act directs the United States Postal Service to issue and sell a special postage stamp called the Veterans Medical Debt Relief Stamp. Revenue from the sale of the stamp is transferred to the Department of Veterans Affairs to help pay down veterans' medical debt. The stamp would be issued annually around Veterans Day and would feature an illustration determined by the Postal Service. The VA would disperse funds received to applicable offices to pay down veteran medical debt from unresolved copayment and coinsurance billings related to VA services and the Community Care Program. The stamp is intended to provide a convenient way for the public to contribute to reducing veterans' medical debt.
