To provide for the payment of salaries to employees of the United States Capitol Police during any lapse in discretionary appropriations, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill makes emergency appropriations to ensure employees of the United States Capitol Police receive their salaries and benefits during any government shutdown caused by a lapse in discretionary appropriations. The appropriations provide necessary funds for Capitol Police employee compensation whenever a shutdown occurs after the bill's enactment date. The bill does not limit the duration of these emergency appropriations and remains in effect until regular appropriations are enacted.
