Summary

This bill amends the National Dam Safety Program Act to extend funding authorization and modify state compliance requirements for dam safety programs. The bill reauthorizes appropriations for rehabilitation of high hazard potential dams through fiscal year 2031, extending the authorization by five years from 2026. The bill establishes that states without their own risk-based priority system for identifying high hazard dams must use a federal priority system established under the program. The bill also makes a technical amendment by removing a provision from the existing National Dam Safety Program Act.
