HR 4534 Introduced Re-checks Congress.gov for new actions and updates the bill's status, and fills in any sponsors, committees, or related bills that are missing. It does not re-pull sponsors/cosponsors/committees/related — those rarely change — and it skips all work if nothing has changed upstream, so it's cheap to click.
Expanding Educational Freedom and Opportunity for Families Act
To codify Executive Order 14191 relating to expanding educational freedom and opportunity for families, and for other purposes.
Summary
This bill converts Executive Order 14191 relating to expanding educational freedom and opportunity for families into federal law, giving it the force and effect of statute. The bill clarifies that the codification does not alter determinations about whether private, religious, or parochial schools receive federal financial assistance or whether such schools are considered state actors for legal purposes. By converting the executive order into law, the bill makes these provisions permanent federal statute rather than subject to executive authority.
