Mr. Neguse (for himself, Mr. Wilson of South Carolina, and Mr. Ciscomani) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Armed Services

A BILL

To modify and extend the authority of the Secretary of Defense to carry out a program to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Vietnam Veteran Commemoration Fund Act of 2025”.

SEC. 2. EXTENSION AND MODIFICATION OF PROGRAM TO COMMEMORATE 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF VIETNAM WAR.

(a) In General.—Section 598 of the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2008 (Public Law 110-181; 10 U.S.C. 113 note) is amended—

(1) in subsection (a), by striking “may conduct” and inserting “shall conduct”;

(2) in subsection (c), by striking “may” and inserting “shall”;

(3) in subsection (e)(1), by striking “If the Secretary establishes” and inserting “For purposes of carrying out”; and

(4) in subsection (g)(1)—

(A) by striking “if established by the Secretary of Defense under subsection (a),”; and

(B) by inserting “of Defense” after “Secretary”.

(b) Effective Date.—The amendments made by subsection (a) shall take effect on November 11, 2025. <all>
