Mr. Langworthy (for himself and Mr. Courtney) introduced the following bill; which was referred to the Committee on Agriculture

A BILL

To expand the seniors farmers’ market program to include maple syrup.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “Making Agricultural Products Locally Essential (MAPLE) Act”.

SEC. 2. EXPANSION OF THE SENIORS FARMERS’ MARKET NUTRITION PROGRAM.

Section 4402(b)(1) of the Farm Security and Rural Investment Act of 2002 (7 U.S.C. 3007(b)(1)) is amended by striking “and herbs” and inserting “herbs, and maple syrup”. <all>
