Wetlands Conservation and Access Improvement Act of 2025

Introduced Mar 25, 2025

Latest action (Nov 25, 2025) Became Public Law No: 119-40.

Summary

This bill modifies the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act to delay when interest accumulated on federal wildlife restoration fund obligations becomes available to distribute. Specifically, it postpones the availability of this interest from fiscal year 2026 to fiscal year 2033, giving the federal government an additional seven years before those interest earnings can be apportioned out. The Pittman-Robertson Act funds wildlife conservation projects through excise taxes on firearms and ammunition, so this change affects the timing of when accrued investment returns enter the pool of available funds for conservation work.
