A BILL

To repeal the Alien Registration Act of 1940.

Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives of the United States of America in Congress assembled,

SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.

This Act may be cited as the “No Round Up Act”.

SEC. 2. REPEAL OF ALIEN REGISTRATION ACT OF 1940.

(a) In General.—Chapter 7 of title II of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1301 et seq.) is amended—

(1) by repealing section 262;

(2) in section 263—

(A) in subsection (a)—

(i) by striking “the provisions of sections 261 and 262” and inserting “section 261”;

(ii) by inserting “and” after “alien crewmen,”; and

(iii) by striking “, (3) aliens confined in institutions” and all that follows and inserting a period; and

(B) by repealing subsection (b);

(3) in section 264—

(A) in subsection (a), by striking “, and the Attorney General is authorized and directed to prepare forms for the registration and fingerprinting of aliens under section 262 of this title”; and

(B) by repealing subsection (e);

(4) by repealing subsection (b) of section 265; and

(5) by repealing section 266.

(b) Conforming Amendment.—Clause (i) of section 237(a)(3)(B) of the Immigration and Nationality Act (8 U.S.C. 1227(a)(3)(B)) is repealed. <all>
